The number of sessions required varies depending on the amount of fat in the treated area. However, you will see results after a single session. If the pinched area of fat is small, one session is usually sufficient. If the area is large, your treating physician will re-pinch the residual fat after the third month of treatment to determine whether you require additional treatment.

Once the area to be treated has been marked, a patch and special gel are applied to prevent the skin from burning when exposed to cold. Then an applicator is placed that sucks the skin, producing a gripping sensation, and a progressive cooling process begins until the skin is numb. There will be no further sensation until the treatment time is up. Once the applicator is removed, the treated skin is massaged vigorously for two minutes. In the following days, rubbing from clothing can cause sensitivity, so it is recommended to wear clothes that apply some pressure to avoid this. In addition, a sensation similar to that generated by exercise may appear, which subsides after several days.

The skin remains reddened for the first few days after treatment. There will be sensitivity to clothing rubbing against the skin, and a grinding sensation. Some side effects occur in between 0.01% and 0.1% of patients and will be explained during the medical evaluation.

The results are permanent, up to 20-25% reduction in fat is removed in one session in the treated area. However, it is important to note that although our bodies do not produce new fat cells, the remaining fat cells can increase in size if they accumulate new fat, which depends on our diet. Therefore, while it is not necessary to follow a restrictive diet, maintaining a stable weight and healthy lifestyle is advisable.
